    John A. Moag, Jr.
    Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

    John Moag is the chairman and chief executive officer of Moag & Company, which he founded in December 2001. He began this highly successful practice in 1998 when he  formed Legg Mason’s Sports Investment Banking Group which was subsequently spun out of Legg. Moag and Company has successfully completed several billions of dollars in transactions

    Prior to joining Legg Mason, Mr. Moag was a lawyer at Patton Boggs, LLP where, from 1988-1999, he served as partner and as a member of the Executive and Management Committees. He was the youngest lawyer ever elected to partnership at Patton Boggs.  Mr. Moag maintained a strong national law practice representing sporting interests and non-profit institutions on both a commercial level and before the United States Congress and regulatory bodies.

    His responsibilities included membership on the executive and management committees of the firm, and sole supervision of the firm’s Denver, Baltimore, Dallas, Greensboro, Raleigh and Seattle offices.

    In addition, Mr. Moag was the pro-bono chairman of the Maryland Stadium Authority beginning in 1995. In this role he led the successful effort that brought a NFL franchise back to Baltimore. Managing a staff of more than 100, he oversaw the construction of several venues in Maryland, including a NFL stadium, the Ocean City Convention Center and other projects at costs exceeding $1 billion – all of which were completed on time and within budget. His wide recognition  as chairman led to his selection as a Maryland Bar Association fellow and numerous recognitions and awards.

    Mr. Moag was also the founding chairman of Baltimore’s 2012 Olympic Bid Committee and he is credited with organizing the merger between the bids submitted by Baltimore and the District of Columbia. Mr. Moag has been, or is, a founding member of the St. Ignatius Loyola Academy board; Vice Chairman of the Board at Washington College, Chestertown, Maryland; member of the Board of Trustees at University of Maryland at Baltimore; member of the Investment Committee of the University of Maryland Foundation; member of the Board of Trustees of the Volvo Race; and member of the Board of Directors of Field Turf, Inc. Montreal, Canada.

    Nathaniel Wilson
    Vice President

    Nathaniel Wilson is responsible for Moag and Company’s financial advisory services, including valuations and market assessments, as well as for the group’s venue and franchise finance efforts, industry research and analysis, and M&A transaction processing. Nate has worked on transactions and assignments involving the Miami Dolphins, Charlotte Hornets and the NBA, among others. As new graduate, Mr. Wilson began his career with Moag and Company as a summer intern and has held a variety of roles during his almost two decades of service.

    He received bachelor’s degrees in economics and political science from Washington College.
